  1. Introduction

The 26th Langport Triathlon is a BTF (British Triathlon Federation) sanctioned sprint triathlon event, organised by Huish Leisure, held on the Huish Episcopi Academy site. Huish Episcopi Academy, through Full on Sport, is the data controller for this event and competitor details are not passed onto any third parties.

 

By completing the online application form and submitting it with your payment you are agreeing to all of the Terms and Conditions along with all of the Declaration and Disclaimer points below.

 

 

  1. General
  • Entries open from the 1st January 2019
  • Entries are limited to 430 and are accepted on a first come, first serve basis
  • Entry fees for BTF Members is £37.00
  • Entry fee for Non BTF Members is £40.00
  • BTF Members must produce their race licence at registration. Failure to do so will result in a £3.00 day licence charge, payable before the race. Failure to pay will result in a DNS (Did Not Show)
  • Photographic Identification must be presented at registration by ALL competitors. Failure to do so will result in a DNS (Did Not Show)
  • A timing chip will be issued to each competitor at registration
  • Once issued, the timing chips become the responsibility of the competitor and any loss or damage will incur a £10.00 fee payable by the competitor directly to chip timing provider
  • Closing date for entries is Sunday 8th September 2019 or when the maximum number of entries is reached
  • If the maximum number of entries is reached, an online waiting list will be created on the Full On Sport website

 

  • The participant at the top of the waiting list will be notified via email if a space becomes available
  • Once an email has been sent, the participant has 48 hours to reply and pay online
  • If there is no response within 48 hours, the next participant on the waiting list will be notified of the available space
  • Entries CANNOT be accepted on the day of the event
  • Entries CANNOT be transferred to another willing competitor
  • Entries CANNOT be deferred to another year
  • All competitors must be at least 16 years old by Sunday 31st December 2019
  • Huish Leisure, at its absolute discretion, reserve the right to refuse an entry

  1. Entries
  • All bookings must be made through the Langport Triathlon website – langporttriathlon.co.uk
  • All fields of the application form must be fully completed
  • Full payment is required at the time of booking
  • An estimated swim time must be submitted. This is the estimated time it will take you to swim a distance of 400m
  • Your estimated swim time can be amended multiple times before the closing date – Sunday 8th September 2019
  • A confirmation email will be sent once payment has been completed

 

  1. Cancellation
  • Cancellations must be submitted directly to Huish Leisure
  • Cancellations can be submitted by written letter or email. All correspondence information can be found on the Langport Triathlon website – langporttriathlon.co.uk
  • The cancellation admin fee is 15% of the entry fee
  • Any cancellations between 1st January 2019 – 31st July 2019 will receive a full refund minus the admin fee
  • Any cancellations between 1st August 2019 – 31st August 2019 will receive a 50% refund (admin fee included within the 50%)
  • Any cancellations between 1st September 2019 – event day will not be eligible for a refund
  • Any ‘No Shows’ on the day of the event will not be eligible for a refund
  • Huish Leisure reserve the right to cancel the event due to hazardous weather conditions or any other safety hazard. Entry fees may be refunded at the discretion of Huish Leisure

 

 

  1. On The Day
  • Swim start times will be sent to competitors no earlier than 1 week before the event
  • Swim start times are subject to change on the day of the event
  • Swimming starts by a trickle feed system
  • Competitors must be on poolside 15 minutes prior to scheduled start time
  • BTF Members must produce their race licence at registration. Failure to do so will result in a £3.00 day licence charge, payable before the race. Failure to pay will result in a DNS (Did Not Show)
  • Photographic Identification must be presented at registration by ALL competitors. Failure to do so will result in a DNS (Did Not Show)
  • The use of headphones during the event is strictly forbidden, including the transition area
  • Bikes and helmets will be checked before entering the transition area and helmets must be worn and fastened
  • Bikes and helmets deemed to be unsafe will result in disqualification
  • Marshals have an obligation to alert any abusive behaviour by competitors to the race referee and could result in disqualification
  • All disqualifications and penalties are decided by the Race Referee
  • All decisions made by the Race Referee are final
  • For security reasons, only marshals and competitors are allowed in the transition area
  • Competitors must show their race number to be allowed access to the transition area

 

  1. Disclaimer & Declaration
  • I accept that triathlons are considered difficult events and they naturally hold higher risks
  • I agree that my participation in this triathlon is entirely at my own risk
  • I understand the risks that come with competing
  • I have done sufficient training to be able to complete this event safely and I fully understand what the triathlon entails
  • I agree to follow the rules set out by Huish Leisure and the British Triathlon Federation
  • I agree that Huish Leisure and Huish Episcopi Academy on behalf of itself, employees and agents hereby disclaims all liability and responsibility for any injury or illness incurred during, or as a result of this event
  • I accept full responsibility for my clothing and belongings and disclaim responsibility from the organisers in the event of loss, damage or theft.
  • I agree to the free use of my name and picture in broadcasts and press releases to publicise the Langport Triathlon.

Sunday 1st September 2019

  • Entry fee for 2019 is £15.00
  • All entries must be submitted online at langporttriathlon.co.uk
  • Once entries have been submitted we will contact you for payment
  • Payment must be made prior to the event
  • All competitors will receive a medal for taking part and the top Male and Female child in each category will receive a trophy
  • Entry fees are non-refundable
  • Your Child must be at least 9 years old by 31st December 2019
  • Entries accepted from Monday 20th May 2019
  • Closing date for entries is Wednesday 28th August 2019 by 10pm (or when the maximum number of entries is reached)
  • No Entries will be accepted on the day of the event
  • Entries are non-transferable
  • The swim will take place in Huish Episcopi Leisure Centre indoor swimming pool
  • The cycle route is taking place on the school fields (private land) and not on any public highway. This is mainly a grass route.  Any roadworthy bike will be considered and road bikes must NOT HAVE SLICK TYRES
  • The run route is mainly cross country on the school fields (private land) with a small section of tarmac
  • Huish Episcopi Academy is the data controller for this event. We do not pass on your details to third parties
  • Places are limited to 100 and are allocated on a first come first serve basis. A waiting list will be created if maximum numbers are reached
  • Huish Episcopi Academy reserve, at its absolute discretion, the right to refuse an application
  • Huish Episcopi Academy reserve the right to cancel the event due to storm, rain, inclement weather or any other safety hazard. Entry fees will be refunded at the discretion of the event organisers
  • Water will be made available at the finish line.

Specific Tri Star Rules

These extra rules are written for children and their parents/guardians/accompanying adults, they are intended to help make children’s events safe and enjoyable.

  • No filming or photography will be allowed during the event unless you have signed the authorisation sheet on photography and filming at the registration table. We will endeavour to have an official photographer present
  • Helmets must be worn throughout the cycle – this will be checked prior to the race by transition marshals.
  • It is the responsibility of the child’s Parent’s/Guardian’s/Accompanying adult’s to ensure the competitor’s bike is in a safe and roadworthy condition.
  • Aero bars (handlebar extensions) must not be fitted to bikes. (Please note that mountain bike bar-ends are acceptable) all handlebars must be plugged.
  • Bikes must be properly fitted and serviceable tyre wheels, gears and controls. SLICK TYRES ARE NOT PERMITTED. They must have a working brake on both wheels.  This will be checked at transition by Marshalls.  Your child may be refused entry if their bike does not comply with these rules. 
  • Competitors must be visible to Marshalls at all times.
  • In order to avoid accidents, safeguard equipment and protect personal possessions, competitors must not bring helpers, friends or family members into any transition area when the race is in progress.
  • All spectators will be required to stand behind the barriers at all times.

General Information

Registration (held in the GYMNASIUM) will open at 09.00am with competitor and parent briefing at 10.30am. 

  • Refreshments will be available by Centre vending machines.
  • Changing rooms and toilets are available at Huish Episcopi Leisure Centre.
  • Car parking is available FREE of charge on site.
  • Prize giving will be held in the sports hall.
  • The site is a non-smoking site.
  • No dogs on site
  • No alcohol is allowed on site

The 7th Ladies Novice Triathlon is a BTF (British Triathlon Federation) sanctioned sprint triathlon event, organised by Huish Leisure, held on the Huish Episcopi Academy site. Huish Episcopi Academy, through Full on Sport, is the data controller for this event and competitor details are not passed onto any third parties.

 

By completing the online application form and submitting it with your payment you are agreeing to the above Terms and Conditions along with all of the Declaration and Disclaimer points below.

 

  1. General
  • Entries open from the 1st January 2019
  • Entries are limited to 250 and are accepted on a first come, first serve basis
  • Entry fees for BTF Members is £30.00
  • Entry fee for Non BTF Members is £33.00
  • BTF Members must produce their race licence at registration. Failure to do so will result in a £3.00 day licence charge, payable before the race. Failure to pay will result in a DNS (Did Not Show)
  • Photographic Identification must be presented at registration by ALL competitors. Failure to do so will result in a DNS (Did Not Show)

Following a successful taster event on Sunday 24th February, you now have the Langport Aquathlon Summer Series. Taking place over 6 weeks this event means that you can have a go at beating your time every week and not have to wait a whole year! Huish Episcopi Academy, through Full on Sport, is the data controller for this event and competitor details are not passed onto any third parties.

  1. General
  • Entries open on Monday 3rd June 2019
  • Entries are limited to 100 and are accepted on a first come, first serve basis
  • Photographic Identification must be presented at registration by ALL competitors each week. Failure to do so will result in a DNS (Did Not Show)
  • You will be issued an overall finish time after each race
  • Day entries are excepted and will cost £9
  • Entries CANNOT be transferred to another willing competitor
  • Entries CANNOT be deferred to another week
  • All competitors must be at least 14 years old by Sunday 31st December 2019
  • Huish Leisure, at its absolute discretion, reserve the right to refuse an entry

  • Individual weekly entries cost £7
  • On the day entries cost £9
  • Competitors wishing to sign up to all 6 weeks will receive discount. 6 weeks for the price of 5 costing a total of £35
  • Competitors wishing to sign up to all 6 weeks and that are already signed up to either 2019 Langport Triathlon or Ladies Novice Triathlon by Monday 22nd July 2019 will receive additional discount costing a total of £30
  • Full payment is required at the time of booking
  • An estimated swim time must be submitted. This is the estimated time it will take you to swim a distance of 250m
  • Your estimated swim time can be amended multiple times before the weekly cut off dates
  • A confirmation email will be sent once payment has been completed

 

  1. Cancellation
  • Cancellations must be submitted directly to Huish Leisure and competitors must provide a minimum of 24 hours noticed for each event
  • Cancellations can be submitted by phone, written letter or email. All correspondence information can be found on the Langport Triathlon website – langporttriathlon.co.uk
  • The cancellation admin fee is £2 per week
  • Any ‘No Shows’ on the day of the event will not be eligible for a refund
  • Huish Leisure reserve the right to cancel the event due to hazardous weather conditions or any other safety hazard. Entry fees may be refunded at the discretion of Huish Leisure

 

  1. On The Day
  • All competitors must register between 6.30pm – 7.10pm for each event date
  • Swim start time will be displayed at registration on each event date
  • Day entries will be accepted therefore swim start times are subject to change on the day of the event
  • Swimming will be a zig zag system involving changing lanes
  • Competitors must have their kit in transition and be on poolside ready for the 7.15pm briefing
  • Photographic Identification must be presented at registration by ALL competitors. Failure to do so will result in a DNS (Did Not Show)
  • The use of headphones during the event is strictly forbidden, including the transition area
  • Marshals have an obligation to alert any abusive behaviour by competitors to the Race Director and could result in disqualification
  • All disqualifications and penalties are decided by the Race Director
  • All decisions made by the Race Director are final
  • For security reasons, only marshals and competitors are allowed in the transition area
  • Competitors must show their race number to be allowed access to the transition area
